I guess the optimization I did on my page worked — Google likes me again! As of today, I’m back in the number 1 spot in Google for the search phrase “Josh Moody”.
It only took about a week to get back in the top spot after I did some optimizations, added an incoming link, and re-submitted to Google!
Google kinda sucks lately. It wasn’t that long ago that I was the #1 result in Google for the phrase "Josh Moody". Now, you can’t find my page on Google at all. This doesn’t make much sense, because I’m the #1 result in Yahoo, Altavista, Lycos, and HotBot for "Josh Moody".
Google has changed their indexing algorithm, and my site got stuck in their "Supplemental Results" index instead of the main index. It seems that Google gives more weight to pages with lots of inbound links than it does to actual page content… I got a another site with a decent Google Page Rank (4/10) to link to me. We’ll see if that helps. I’ve also submitted my page to the Yahoo Directory. Maybe that will help as well.
I’ve done a little search engine optimization — including changing the signature on my blog to have my full name instead of just "Josh". This probably won’t help in Google, but it increases keyword density on my page and the other search engines should like it. Now, everytime I post a blog, I should (in theory at least), be increasing my page’s ranking in terms of keyword density.
I just completed a new design for my site. I hope you like it!
My neighbors had a eight-point buck crash thru a window of their house and roam around their home this week — they were out of the state on vacation at the time. Don’t believe me? You can read about it in the Log Cabin Democrat. The really odd thing is that we live in the middle of the city… There aren’t any woods close by. Weird.
It’s official — The Kerry folks finally did the math and saw there was no way Kerry could win Ohio even if they counted all of the provisional ballots. He’s giving his concession speech at 2:00 today!
I was starting to get worried after the exit polls started coming in yesterday — it wasn’t looking good for dubya. I guess this emphasizes the point that the only poll that really counts is the final ballot count!
God Bless George W. Bush!
I was up until almost 3am watching the election results. Florida was close, but I don’t think we have to worry about any recounts there this year.
It’s all going to come down to Ohio. Bush seems to have won Ohio, but the Dems are sending all their lawyers there anyway. They pretty much have to. If Bush wins Ohio, then Bush wins the election. Ohio is Kerry’s one and only chance. He knows he can’t win, but it looks like he’s going to stretch this out for as long as possible. Get a life, John. The people have spoken. You lost. Get over it.
What’s up with New Mexico, Nevada, and Iowa? Why won’t the networks go ahead and declare Bush the winner in those states? I guess they are afraid to after the problems with the 2000 election.
I’m glad Arkansas went Republican. It was close. I don’t see how a southern state in the middle of the bible belt could vote democrat. It’s a strange world.
